Ambulatory Pharmacy
Speed and accuracy is the aim of the prescription entry flow. The option to search for drugs by generic, brand, label name or mnemonic is provided. When you enter individual prescription fields, help is available with easy-to-access Windows® help functionality. The ability to enter a group of prescriptions for a patient with optional detail screen makes the process for entering routine prescriptions fast. Prescription entry flows are similar to inpatient, making the transition seamless. Clinic and Emergency prescriptions, discharge meds, employee and ambulatory prescriptions can be entered. Multiple prescription labels can be printed with duplicate or split label option.
Clinical Activities
Drug-to-drug interactions and monographs, allergy checking, identical medication, duplicate therapy, medication label warnings and patient education are just some of the tools available to support the physician, pharmacist and technical personnel in providing the best pharmaceutical care possible.
Inventory
A perpetual inventory is maintained for medications at each dispensing location and storage location. Functionality is in place to receive and send order information to wholesalers. A simple manual process is provided for inventory receipts and transfers.
Labels/Notices
Each type of medication can have a different label format. Medication labels can be printed when the order is entered or during the verification process.
Notices can be printed at the operators location, patient’s location and the dispensing location for new orders, renewals, discontinued, change, hold and renewed orders.
Reports
Formulary reports with multiple sort options are available for printing. All reports provided can be previewed prior to printing.
Medication Usage and Expenditure reports sorted by prescriber, usage and by drug and Cumulative Workload reports are available.
