Order Communications

PiMS Order Communications is an easy to use point and click system which integrates all of your departments under one product. It is designed for each facility the control of their order communication process. PiMS can be installed in a group practice, clinic or hospital. PiMS features include orders from nursing units to departments, between departments, easy ordering from a list of common orders, routine orders, physician protocol text orders, optional results entry, department messaging and reports.
Nursing unit and department staff can select orders for patients for ambulatory care and/or patients admitted to a specific nursing unit location. Each workstation can have its own set of common orders, so staff members who float or have access to many workstations can select orders easily.
PiMS Order Communications is profile driven, therefore allowing a facility to make business decisions that meet their needs. Orders can be charged at order request, or with results entry, not charged at all or a combination of all three depending on the order's requirements. Automatic generation of charges means accuracy for timely billing.

Order Entry

Orders are selected from a list of common orders for a workstation and/or from a list of all orders for a specific department.  Special instructions and messages can be entered per order and are included on the order requisition.  Provides an automatic transmission of charges and credits of canceled orders to the billing system.

Order Views

Orders defined as a group of orders can be viewed by all orders for a group, a patient, or ordering area beginning with a start date of the order.  This provides you a view of both current, future orders and if desired, past orders.

Order Results

PiMS Order Communications provides for entry of results for selected orders. When the option for an order to be resulted is chosen, it can be just an indicator to show as resulted or text results can be entered and the charge automatically posted to the account or not at all.  A result notice can be routed to other departments or viewed online with the order.  Orders waiting for results are worklisted for completion by the department and ordering area.

Order Reports

On demand reports by nursing station, department and patient are available and orders can be selected by a specific date or date range. An inpatient order summary report can be printed on demand by nursing station or patient.  Additional reports for the patient include detail order information showing any results and ordering information.
