You use the Add/Update Reference function to add information about the patient's next-of-kin, legal guardian, and first and second person to notify in the event of an emergency.
To enter patient reference information:
- Select Add/Update References from the Patient menu.
- Select the patient for whom you want to enter references. You enter next-of-kin, legal guardian, and notify information on the Add/Update Patient Reference screen.
- Press the Copy Patient Information button to copy in the patient home address, and telephone information. If you need to add the name of the legal guardian, select the More button to enter this information.
- Check that the information is correct and press Enter or click OK.
