Paperless Billing And
Collection
PiMS provides an on-line paperless
financial history. This includes a
history of charges, billing events, claims, patient bills, claim forms, account
balances, statements, payments/adjustments and activity notes. The financial
history provides detail information for charges for patient, charges for an
account, charges the claim. There are functions to view all accounts for a
patient, a guarantor, and detail balance for each.
Account Balance
The account balance is the third party amount plus the guarantor responsibility
amount. The system monitors accounts to
be in balance. The total charges less
payments and adjustments equal the account balance. The amounts can be split between the third party and the
guarantor depending on where in the billing cycle the dollars are billed and
transferred between third party payers and guarantor responsibility amounts.
