  <li>Select the patient for whom you want to add an alternate patient
ID. After you select a patient, the screen displays the patients
corporate patient and entity.</li>
  <li>Enter the alternate patient ID and the alternate entity.</li>
  <li>Check that the information is correct and press Enter or click OK.</li>

This is not the registration function, although similar, it is used to update basic patient information.&nbsp; You can add new patients to the system using this function, but they will not be identified as registered.&nbsp; A registered patient is one that not only &nbsp;has patient demographics but also, insurance, referring MD and guarantor which are completed in the registration function.</p>

<li>Enter the patient's social security number in the SSN field.</li>
<li>Select M for male, F for female, or U for unknown.</li>
<li>Select the code for the patient's marital status in the Marital Status field.The codes for the marital status are M for married, S for single, D for divorced, P for separated, W for widowed, or U for unknown. </li>
<li>Select the code for the patient's race in the Race field. The codes for race are A for Asian, B for Black, H for Hispanic, I for Native American,O for Other, W for White, or U for Unknown.</li>
<li>Enter the patient's mailing address in the Mail Address, City, State and Zip fields.</li>
<li>Enter the county in which the patient lives in the County field.</li>
<li>Enter the patient's telephone number in the Telephone fields.</li>
<li>Select the registration point in the Registration Point field.</li>
<li>Enter any other patient information you have.</li>
<li>Check that the information is correct and press Enter or click OK.</li>
<li>Press the More button to enter the Home address and other patient related information.</li>
<li>Press OK to return to the main screen and then OK to update all of the information.</li></ol>

        <p>You use the View Patient Accounts function to review a list of all
accounts for a patient. The accounts are listed beginning with the most
recent account. You can refine the search by selecting by patient type
or bad debt or exclude any account that is at zero balance. </p>
<p>The detail display for each account is two rows&nbsp; of information
beginning
with the account number. The first row also provides the account
special handling, account category, financial class, patient status,
patient type, discharge date and account balance. The second row begins
with the account entity, bad debt indicator, bad debt agency write off code,
group account indicator, admit/visit date and third party balance.&nbsp; If
the group account indicator is Y, then guarantor worklists, letters,
and financial arrangements are grouped together for followup.&nbsp; If
it is N, then each account is treated as an individual account for all
accounts for a guarantor.<br />

<h4>To View Patient Accounts:
</h4>

    <p>Click on Patient on the top menu bar. </p>

    <p>Click on View Patient Accounts. </p>
  </li>
  <li>
    <p>Search for the Patient by patient name, patient ID or social security number. </p>
  </li>

    <p>Select the patient and press OK to continue. </p>
  </li>
  <li>
    
    <p>The list of accounts display. Highlight the account and select the account to review the detail information. <br />
    </p>

Add/Update Reference function to add information about the patient's
next-of-kin, legal guardian, and first and second person to notify in
the event of an emergency.</p>
<h4>To enter patient reference information:</h4>


<ol>
  <li>Select Add/Update References from the Patient menu.</li>
  <li>Select the patient for whom you want to enter references. You
enter next-of-kin, legal guardian, and notify information on the
Add/Update Patient Reference screen.</li>
  <li>Press the Copy Patient Information button to copy in the patient
home address, and telephone information. If you need to add the name of
the legal guardian, select the More button to enter this information.</li>
  <li>Check that the information is correct and press Enter or click OK.</li>

        <p>You use the Add/Update Employer function to add employment information for a specific patient.</p>
<h4>To enter patient employment information:</h4>


<ol>
  <li>Select Add/Update Patient Employer from the Patient menu.</li>
  <li>Select the patient for whom you want to enter employers. You
enter patient employment information on the Patient Employer screen.</li>
  <li>Enter the name of the patient's primary employer in the Name field.</li>
  <li>Select the patient's employment status in the Patient Employer
Status field. The possible values for the patient's employment status
are 1 for employed full-time,2 for employed part-time, 3 for
unemployed, 4 for self-employed, 5 for retired, 6 for active military
duty, or 9 for unknown.</li>
  <li>Enter any other information you have about the patient's employer and occupation.</li>
  <li>Check the information on the screen and press Enter or click OK.</li>
