Activities
A set of collection and system activities comes with PiMS.
Collection Activities are events that indicate a collection,
billing or missing element task was performed, or a letter is to be
printed. They are user-defined to represent your facility’s policies
and procedures. Activities can generate notes that are available for
viewing. They can also generate statistics that can be used for
monitoring collection productivity.
System Activities are events that are posted when PiMS functions are performed. An example, is when a claim is filed.
You can update an activity, changing the description, deciding whether
or not to post the note and if so, which notes to post it to, the
worklist description, and the tracking days.
Update an Activity
- Select Update Activity from the File menu.
- Enter the activity code to update.
- You can also enter a partial activity code or partial desription. A list of activity codes starting with the characters you input will be displayed. Select the activity code to update.
- The update activity detail screen displays. To turn off posting of the note, click the Post Note option off.
- To change the type of notes posted, select an option from Second Desc Posting values.
- The note description can be changed.
- If this note results in a claim or a guarantor balance being
worklisted for follow-up, the worklist description that is presented
can be changed.
- If the activity results in tracking of a claim or a guarantor
balance or is a collection activity, you can change the tracking days.
The standard days is the default days which is used to calculate the follow-up date. When a collection
activity is being posted, the user can override the standard days. The
maximum days limits the number of days that the user can use for
a collection activity. The courtesy days is used for financial
arrangement activities.
- Press enter or select OK, a message will appear at the bottom of your screen. "Please review this data before continuing", this allows you to review all the data before you commit the information.
- Press or select OK a second time to update the activity.
Add Deactivate and Activate Activities
You can use the additional Activity functions to deactivate and activate collection activities. System Activities cannot be deactivated.
