Priming the PiMS Nightly Process

Prior to the first reporting cycle, the batch priming process needs to be initiated.  This is generally associated with go-live or the restart of a testing cycle and would coincide with a "clean-out" of the PiMS databases.

Note: When PiMS is first installed on the server, it automatically performs this process. Therefore this procedure is only necessary when the databases are initialized and the report directory be set to the minimum files.

From a DOS command promt,

  1. Change to the drive that PiMS was installed on, (ex. E:)

  2. Change directories to the batch-processing directory: CD \PDMPIMS\RUNJOBS

  3. Execute the batch process, PRIMING.BAT, with the option to start at the extract processing. This will create the zero-balance file(s) in preparation for the first balancing run.
