Instructions for installing programs and updating PiMS database:
-
Delete all files in the PDMPIMS\SRVCPACK folder.
-
Click on this link and save the PiMS900Update.zip to the PDMPIMS\SRVCPACK folder.
If you get the message box about PDM not being a trusted site, please click on the Yes button.
-
Start a command prompt.
-
Enter cd \PDMPIMS\SYSTEM
-
It is a good practice ti test the validity of the PiMS snapshot file. This can easily be accomplished by issuing the command:
..\utility\pkzipc -test ..\srvcpack\(PiMS snapshot file name)
If the program reports any errors, please download the PiMS snapshot again. If the file has integrity issues, the next step will "hang" because it cannot unzip the file. -
Execute the BAT file named pimssp.bat
-
The previous step generates a SQL update, PIMS800Update.sql, in the PDMPIMS\SRVCPACK folder. Use the SQL query tool to read this file and update the SQL tables. Spool the results to a file and check for errors.
Instructions for updating the Real-Time Reports:
- Copy the file, tomcat\webapps\rtr\WEB-INF\classes\rtr.properties, to a safe location not under the "rtr" folder tree.
- Using the Windows administrative tool, Services, stop the service "Apache Tomcat".
- Remove the folder, "work", from under the \Tomcat folder.
- Remove the folder, "rtr", from under the \Tomcat\webapps folder.
- Click on this link and save the rtr.war file in the tomcat\webapps folder. This is easily found if you set the Tomcat root at c:\Tomcat. http://ftp.pdmsoftware.com/rtr.war Note: Internet Explorer or Firefox may default to save the file named rtr.war.zip. Please ensure that the file name is rtr.war. If this is not done, rtr files will not be installed.
- Using the Windows administrative tool, Services, start the service "Apache Tomcat".
- After a minute or so, Apache Tomcat will expand the rtr.war into the rtr folder tree. Once this is finished, copy back the rtr.properties file to the Tomcat\webapps\rtr\web-inf\classes folder.
- Test by accessing Real-Time Reporting from a web browser. Start either Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter //localhost/rtr into the address bar. This should bring up the RTR signon screen.
- Note: You may experience an JSP error page when attempting to bring up a report. This could be due to the security policies on the server. If this error occurs, suggest that you sign on the server as administrator where the RTR is installed.
Next invoke the Real Time Reporting from the PiMS application. Once viewing the RTR menu, over key the webpage reportGroup.jsp with RTRCompileAll.jsp. Then press enter. You should see a table showing if all of the RTR reports were compiled successfully.
Then try to bring the RTR report that was causing the initial error page.
